Damn! Times are a changin'. I remember going on a road trip to see Jonas numerous times last year and this year I was content with seeing them once. LOLZ. And I didn't make an effort to buy good tickets. Lolz. The new album just hasn't really grabbed me and it seems so forced. BUT I did get into thinking I could score cheap tickets off cragislist. I met the guy the day before and got two for one. Actually less than two for one. They were dirt cheap for center second level. No one stood in front of me. GLORIOUS. The only bad part was:

#1. There was tiny kids behind me. I didn't want to stand and block the kids view. So I figure I should sit and be nice.
#2. These kids kept kicking my seat and my head. I actually wasn't aware there was kids behind me, I thought some bitch just kicked me in the head for fun. (It was really hard. I can take a kick to the face any time, esp. at a concert but this was some steel toe action.) So I figure wait till the end of one of the opening acts to raise hell but it was some Mom with her kid in her lap, like easily three years old. So maybe it was the kid or mom? I don't know.
#3. These kids just kept on kicking, so what the hell, I stood up. lolz.

Getting ahead of myself. Get to the venue a bit earlier than I would have liked, there is a HUGE line, but eh. Why stand in line if I have seats, we walk around a bit and look at the booths and merch. Merch was really half assed this year. The colors were painful, and I love pink and blue! But these looked like knockoffs. I did spot Wonder girls merch and we got the shirt and poster. Actually got the poster at the end of the night, there was no more posters in three of the booths, so I bought the one they had taped on the merch stand. lolz.

Ok, really getting ahead of myself. We look at booths, see all the wildly inappropriate stuff girls write for them. Really, there was weird stuff. I forget how twisted fangirls can be. NO SHAME. There was a Vanessa from Salinas who wrote on the bus 345636463 times! I saw her stuff like a million times. She wrote in white-out. Smart lady. Anyway we look at booths, get in line, and of course the Jesus-freaks come out with their signs and ranting and how Jonas = LUST. ^^;;; People are laughing at them hardcore. I honestly didn't think these people would be at this show. MIND IS BLOWN.

Wow. Last night was long. Some good and some bad, but overrall worth it. This was my fourth time seeing Gaga, and I believe the last I'll get this year, so sad! I'd see Lady Gaga in a heartbeat anywhere and anytime if time permits. But we were SO close to missing this show becuase of the dumbest reasons. We get to SF, no problem since I just saw her in the same area five days ago so we park at the same parking garage thinking it'd be open till 2am. Yeah, but more on that later. We get into SF around 5pm and found the Great American Music Hall and see only three people in line. ^^;;;; I wasn't really sure if I wanted to wait, so we walk around for another hour and a half and get back in line around 6:40 and there is already 50+ people in line. (!!) But we came at a great time because after we were in line for 30 minutes, I swear the crowds started to come. The line grew in less than an hour to 600+

The show is suppose to start at 9pm, they don't start letting people in until 9:30-ish and while we were getting in the security come out and the locals (not the people in line, but the people just walking the streets) start going at it, they call each other the 'n' word and try to act all tough and in their faces that I'm two people in to get in the door, so I stand in watch this lame fight where the security and the local is screaming at each other and the security guard wins because he basically screams at the guy to keep walking and get a job. So we get in and rush to the stage to find it already three rows deep. So we wait and watch the area, the dance hall is empty and the seating upstairs is also empty, so we figure why not sit on to and not in front of anyway, so we grab these seats upstairs and sit and watch the place fill up.

So I think I officially have my fill of house music for the REST OF MY LIFE, due to last night. I went to 2008 Energy Anniversary Blast because I wanted to see Lady Gaga again and figure, Cyndi Lauper sounds safe and house music can't be all THAT bad. Well, yeah. YEAH. It was an adventure for one thing.

First off, let me be the first to say, I have little to no experience on house music, I'm aware of it, the majority of my Dad's brothers live that lifestyle and use to force it on us when we lived in SoCal, one of my dad's brother was a really big name in that scene, so we've seen and heard and met some of the best names in LA, but still. I remember tuning out and thinking about Green Day guitar rifts (or lack of, ahahhaa.) while I sat in the backseat of his car. So me and house music don't click, I live for male vocals and guitars. So what the hell I'm doing at a Lady Gaga show?

Because I love shameless glam pop and will fully support a woman who not only stands by 1000% of what she's doing but is brutally honest, shameless and an entertainer that is easily the future. I just praypraypray to god the woman doesn't go on all sell out and get some facial work done. She isn't societies idea of beauty but all her little imperfections make her all the more glamorous to me. That and her music has been nonstop playing in my car since late July. I want everyone to experience Gaga. Go now if she's in the area! But I'm getting ahead of myself, clearly my love for Gaga glows. I gotta start back before it even started.

But if you want to skip all I have to say, here is what I recorded of her set:

My third time seeing Lady Gaga! I can't get enough of this woman! Her album has been playing nonstop for me since I nabbed the Canada release in early Aug! I went early, knew nothing about this radio station or even house music, waited in line for hours and ran to the front of the stage. She gave 10000%, flawless and fierce is Lady Gaga. I including bits and pieces of her show, from the opening to full songs of Pokerface and Paparazzi and bits of Just Dance, Lovegame and even her ending bit of jumping in the crowd! Enjoy and if she's in your area, GO SEE HER, she is well worth the wait!

For pics and everything else, under the cut!

28th-Nov-2008 10:09 pm - NKOTB at the Nokia Theater. (pt 1???)

The Click-click-click pose Joey with his shirt up, Jordan peeing on Donnie. WHUT.

I heard great things about the Nokia theater and looking around their website it looks like this is going to be the LA hotspot filled with shops, entertainment and food. Again, this sounds and looks like a good idea but none of this is going to occur in about a year or so. So basically we came too soon! NKOTB makes up for it, but still Nokia theater outside has nothing going on, except a strict bowling alley with a dress code, but there is parking garages galore and with them all wanting your business, you can park for cheap in LA. Who knew? We skip the 5 and go 110 to get to downtown in no time. It was kinda scary because for it being so dead and empty, there was a concert and a car show going on, on the same block. For a second I thought I had my days wrong. Wouldn't that be ultimate fail? Read more... )
11th-Oct-2008 11:09 am - New Kids on the Block!

What can I say? Tons of Mom jeans and bad cleavage at this show! This is easily one of the first shows I have been to where I was one of the youngest people there. Wow. But I have nothing but love for these NKOTB fans, they are hardcore and know every word. I love them! I was aware of NKOTB growing up and Mom insisted I see them in concert, but I refused because I wanted my first to be special, aw. If I told you what I very first concert was, you'd all laugh and say I was better off seeing NKOTB instead. I didn't really get into NKOTB (wait for it) until I was in college. OMG, yes. I remember starting Nursing school and bought all the albums and just devoured the stuff. Then I went off and listened to their solo stuff and was very impressed with the style of Joey McIntyre and his album Meet Joe Mac is still in my top five albums of all time. That album didn't go anywhere, but I loved it. Shame he didn't play any of that stuff at this concert, but whatever. I'm getting ahead of myself. Read more... )
