share 9 songs you enjoyed a great deal in 2008. the catch, the songs had to be released in 2008. this is not the BEST of, but most enjoyed songs. i can't imagine any of you telling me THIS is the best song of 08, so i can't do it to you. this wasn't too hard. there was a ton of music released in 2008, that it kept me busy and almost anti-social because i had headphones on the majority of my days. I'm not really big on singles, so the majority of these songs aren't singles (but damn, that should be!) starting from 9 and working my way down to the enjoyed song of 08. all on sendspace.

Endlessly, She Said - AFI
Recorded in 06, released in late 07, didn't get it in my hands until the start of 08. Ahaha. AFI fans are kick ass, they know EVERY SINGLE WORD and that they almost overtake the album and shadow Davey and Co. I love it when fans give 10000% but it almost seems like it's a sing-a-long disc. This is my favorite track and the crowd sings all the right parts and the lyrics with Davey been harsh one second and sweet another. It's almost a love song, if he didn't sound like he wanted to strangle me.
#8.
Shelf - Jonas Brothers
Jonas Brothers take a sucker punch to the gut with this song. I loathe people who swear this guys are all happy-go-lucky, they can be dreadful and their lyrics are be a bit too sad, BUT realistic. The world isn't sunshine and smiles. This is where
shelf fits in. Sad angsty-teenage lyrics with a taunting "la la la la la" at the end. Boys, skip the girl. She isn't really worth it.

White Trash Circus - Motley Crue
I'm shocked this album didn't go farther since it's a nice little slick production that is a~la SIXX AM, which was all kinds of amazing. Maybe the album played it safe or maybe people just wanted them to stop trying to be classy. I for one, do not think this song is classy as well and me and my friends smirk and think of all the Crue fans who live up to lyrics.

Mother Mary - The Foxboro Hot Tubs
Oh how my heart did flipflops when this and their album was released. It was a mixture of happiness (for new music) and anger for (not NEW music). Ahahha. I'm picky when it comes to Green Day, but it did get them back in the limelights. This song was massive in the Bayarea and even more epic live. But still, no more side projects, let's get back to what really counts.
#5.
Prescription - Mindless Self Indulgence.
The album
if is perfect. It's snarky, offensive and vulgar. I quote it often and daily, because it's sooooooo stupid and over-the-top that it speaks volumes of truth. Maybe because I work in health care, that
prescription really stuck with me. Love this song to pieces, love it. LOVE IT.

This is how I disappear (live) - My Chemical Romance
A bit of a cheat? Song is old, but live version released is new and released in 08. Been collecting bootlegs and recording of their concerts for the last two years, so I was excited to get an real release of live tracks from them. The album of live tracks was a bit of a let down, because G.Way himself, does not have the stamina to carry this.

A little Piece of Heaven - Avenged Sevenfold.
I'm breaking the rules, this track was released in 07, but it's too good of a song to NOT include it on this list. Take a heavy metal rock band, let them do a show-tune about love where it involved fucking the dead and make it last for eight minutes. When I heard this song, I knew I wanted nothing more than to hear it live to see if a7x could pull off this epic piece and the boys did not disappoint. It's 09 now and this song still takes me by surprise.
#2.
Pokerface - Lady Gaga.
It wasn't hard to pick the #2 spot. It was hard not putting more Gaga tracks in the top nine. Pokerface will be the song of 2009.
just dance needs to fade away, I have been listening to that since April. It's DONE AND PLAYED OUT. The radio and middle America needs to get
the fame in their hands and listen to pokerface. I went to see her four times last year and the last two times I saw her, the crowd was all over this song struggling to sing her parts and the background parts that seem endless. Gaga herself was taken back in SF when the crowd chanted the "Mum mum mum mah" before the track started. Aw, good times.

Twisted - New Kids on the Block.
I'm going to get shit for this? I wanted to download
the block before buying it and was mortified by the music, it just didn't stick with me, except for this track, right from the very first listen, i had to sit and get some headphones and just listen and listen and LISTEN. The beats are slick, the lyrics are so painfully hot and Joe Mac carries this song like nothing else. this is the one song I can play at a party and everyone's like "WHO IS THIS!?!??!" and i tell them it's nkotb and they refuse to believe it. a great solid song, where every time i listen to it, it's like i hear something new every time.
EDIT. I just realize I saw every single band on this list LIVE last year, except for AFI because they lazy and haven't done a concert in ages!
